A concert in the central nave of the Castilian Cathedral, in which the Teatro Real's Titular Choir and Orchestra perform Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem, under the musical direction of José Miguel Pérez Sierra and four great soloists: the soprano Vittoria Yeo, the mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton, the tenor Piotr Beczala, and the bass Maharan Huseynov.

Premiered in the Church of San Marco in Milan in 1874, the Requiem is one of Giuseppe Verdi's most moving creations and its music contains the unmistakable expression of the composer from Busseto. The seven pieces that compose it reflect his preoccupation with death, the question that opens up in the face of that mystery and the search for a meaning in life that can only be resolved through doubt. The work transits from darkness to light, going through feelings of pity, terror, conflict, joy and uncertainty, with an expressive music in all its nuances and a dramatic structure very similar to that of an opera.
