El barbero de Sevilla (Ópera en corto)
The Teatro Real has created ‘Ópera en Corto’, reduced versions, of around 45 minutes, of works from the lyric repertoire explained by the composer Francesca Caccini (1587-1641), recreated virtually. From the hand of the first woman composer of an opera -also a singer, lutenist, poet and educator-, the Real offers an entertaining journey through the most popular operas.
The second installment of ‘Opera en Corto’ is The Barber of Seville. Francesca Caccini's narration will take us to the city of Seville through Rossini's vibrant score; delving into the intricacies of the dramaturgy of this production and its dynamic scenography, in which all the elements of the stage are permanently formed and transformed in front of the audience. Francesca Caccini, who has her own social networks - Instagram and TikTok - will go through five centuries of opera showing its keys and secrets, from those hidden in the score, to what is behind the stage, workshops, dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms of the orchestra, the chorus or the singers' studios.
The project is supported by NTT DATA and Telefónica's technology in MyOpera.
