Mitriate, re di Ponto, one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s later operas, presents at the Teatro Real in a true whirlwind of human emotions, brought to life by a stellar cast led by Juan Francisco Gatell, Sara Blanch, Franco Fagioli and Elsa Dreisig, and conducted by Maestro Ivor Bolton.

Drawing on Jean Racine’s tragedy Mithridate, stage director Claus Guth takes inspiration from the hit television series Succession to tell this story of family conflicts in which King Mitridate faces political betrayal from his own sons, Farnace and Sifare, both of whom are in love with his new fiancée, Aspasia.
