Frida
A production that explores the life, art and legacy of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Her most intimate and dramatic moments: physical suffering, female empowerment, turbulent love affairs and resilience.
For this piece, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa has created a choreography that blends elements of classical ballet with contemporary dance techniques. Her characters come to life through a captivating score that includes jazz, mariachi and flamenco. The production is complemented by visual elements drawn from Kahlo’s iconography, such as traditional Mexican dresses, the corsets she wore and depictions of her paintings
