Huw Montague-Rendall & Joseph Middleton
From Mahler to the mélodie.
Described by the French newspaper Le Figaro as ‘the Pelléas of his time’, the British baritone Huw Montague-Rendall has conquered some of the world's leading theatres, such as the Royal Opera House and the Opéra National in Paris, the Salzburg and Aix-en-Provence Festivals, among others. But his artistic profile is not only focused on opera; the baritone is also a great interpreter of song, standing out especially in the orchestral Lieder of Gustav Mahler or the melodies of Henri Duparc, which he has masterfully recorded with Malcolm Martineau. In this case, together with Joseph Middleton, one of the frequent pianists at LIFE Victoria, he makes his recital debut in Barcelona after recently performing Die Fledermaus (The Bat) with Marc Minkowski at the Liceu. Another unmissable debut at the Festival from one of the voices that will become indispensable in the lieder scene in the coming years.
Live from the Lied Festival Victoria de los Angeles.
